As part of a major push to strengthen the country’s examination system, the Centre has sacked 47 officials of the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Sources have told News18 that disciplinary proceedings are also likely to be initiated against some of the dismissed officials as the government moves to enforce greater accountability within the agency.

The action comes amid a wider restructuring of the NTA, which has faced intense scrutiny over alleged examination paper leaks. According to sources, the agency is set for a comprehensive overhaul over the next month, with several reform measures expected to follow.

A key area of focus will be the NTA’s outsourcing framework for examination-related work. The government plans to revamp the agency’s outsourcing processes to strengthen oversight, improve accountability and address vulnerabilities in the conduct of examinations.

The reforms will be implemented based on the recommendations of an expert committee and are aimed at creating a robust, transparent and leak-proof examination system.
