India decimates Pakistan by 61 Runs, Qualifies for Super 8s in the T20 WC

Pakistan have lost nine wickets in the 176-run chase against India at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo in the 27th match of the T20 World Cup. India earlier posted 175 runs in their 20 overs courtesy of a 77-run knock off just 40 balls and even after Pakistan pulled things back in the second half, the men in blue managed to post a decent total.

India are batting first and have done well, thanks to Ishan Kishan’s 77-run knock. Tilak and Surya will be looking to up the ante now as the death overs are approaching. Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube are waiting in the dugout for their chance bat. Can India go past the 200-run mark? Will Pakistan hit back with wickets?

India are dominating the proceedings at the end of the powerplay overs thanks to Ishan Kishan who has scored a half-century. Abhishek Sharma is yet to score a single run in this World Cup but Tilak Varma is in the middle who is also capable of scoring big. Pakistan, meanwhile, are desperate for wickets. Who will strike for them?

Pakistan won the toss and opted to bowl first in the marquee clash against India at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The match will start at 7 PM with Pakistan making no changes to their line-up. Meanwhile, India have made two changes, dropping Sanju Samson and Arshdeep Singh for Abhishek Sharma and Kuldeep Yadav. Who will be the hero today for India?

India and Pakistan last faced each other in the Asia Cup when the two teams locked horns as many as three times in 15 days. On all three occasions, India ended up winning and there was more drama as both teams refused to shake hands at the toss and after the match as well. Even the players had a go at each other, with Haris Rauf also being fined, while Sahibzada Farhan and Suryakumar Yadav were warned for their actions. All eyes will be on Surya and Salman today at the toss to see whether they shake hands.
