The Delhi government will soon fulfill the long-pending demand of students for concessional passes for the Delhi Metro, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said on Monday.

“The metro passes have not been provided until now… this Delhi government will make that happen soon. We will definitely provide our students with the facility,” Gupta said as she addressed Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad’s (ABVP’s) annual programme ‘Swayamsiddha 2025’ at Delhi University’s Sports Complex.

With Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) elections round the corner, where RSS-backed ABVP, Congress-backed NSUI, and Left-backed student wings AISA and SFI are among the top contenders, Gupta, who served as the president of DUSU decades ago, reminisced about her college days.
