5th Test: Jaiswal Makes Half Century  India are 75/2 Leads by 52

India are 75-2 at stumps with Yashasvi Jaiswal leading the charge with an unbeaten 49-ball 51. Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna took four-wicket hauls as England were bowled out for 247 and took a 23-run lead at the Oval in the first innings. Earlier, India made 224 runs after Ollie Pope won the toss and chose to bowl first.

England’s sloppy catching as three easy chances went down helped India take a 52-run lead before stumps as Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed a quick-fire half-century. The Indian opener is unbeaten at 51 (49 balls) at the close of play with night watchman Akash Deep batting with him. KL Rahul (7) and Sai Sudharsan (11) were dismissed by Josh Tongue and Gus Atkinson to leave the game evenly poised.

England took a 23-run lead in the first innings of the Oval Test to set up a blockbuster battle in the final two innings of the series. Despite a 93-run partnership between Zak Crawley (64) and Ben Duckett (43). Mohammed Siraj (4-88) and Prasidh Krishan (4-62) were the stars of the Indian bowlers.
