Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday visited Prayagraj, where he took a holy dip at Prayagraj’s Triveni Sangam on the auspicious occasions of Magh Ashtami and Bhishma Ashtami.
Dressed in a saffron sweatshirt and tracksuit, PM Modi offered prayer at Triveni Sangam holding rudraksha beads, chanting sanskit mantras, before offering aarti wearing a navy blue kurta, black jacket and a Himachali woollen cap.
After performing the ritual bath, PM Modi said that he was “overcome with a sense of devotion” and felt “blessed to be at the Maha Kumbh”.
Earlier, PM Modi was seen taking a boat ride along with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath from Areal Ghat to Maha Kumbh.
PM Modi arrived at Prayagraj Airport at 10:05 am before proceeding to Areal Ghat at 10:45 am.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati rivers on Wednesday as well.
Posting a video on X, Rijiju said, “Maha Kumbh comes once in 144 years i.e. once in many generations.
