Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked by an intruder at his house in Mumbai’s Bandra, police said on Thursday (January 16).

Khan’s surgery is completed and is out of danger, his team said. “Saif Ali Khan has come out of surgery and is out of danger. He is currently in recovery and the doctors are monitoring his progress. All family members are safe and the police is investigating the incident,” an official statement from his team said.

The actor was brought to Lilavati Hospital at 3:30 am. Sources in the hospital told CNBC-TV18 that the actor was being operated. The actors got stabbed multiple times. He had six injuries out of which two cuts were deep and one was close to the spine, the sources added.

“He sustained a major injury to the thoracic spinal cord due to a lodged knife in the spine. A surgery was performed to remove the knife and repair leaking spinal fluid. Two other deep wounds on his left hand and one other on his neck were repaired by the plastic surgery team.
