Delhi BJP’s state president Virendra Sachdeva, an organisational man, has been able to give stability to the state unit with the party sweeping the Lok Sabha elections in the capital. He spoke to Abhinav Rajput about the party’s plans for the assembly polls:
The Mahila Samman Yojana introduced by AAP h as become a major talking point in this election. How is BJP planning to counter it? Do people trust Kejriwal to give the money? He did not give the Rs 1,000 he had promised to women in Punjab. He said before the Lok Sabha polls that by September, he would give Rs 1,000 to women in Delhi but did not do so.
He was not able to give salaries to teachers in 12 DU colleges. By making mere
announcements, one cannot win elections. It is BJP that has given Mahila Samman
Nidhi. We gave it in Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Maharashtra, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh
and Rajasthan.
It is on our list of public welfare policies that we are running (in other states). It
will be added. All welfare policies of the govt will continue. Wait for our manifesto.
We gave respect to women in other states and will give respect to women in Delhi
too.
