Train and flight services were disrupted in Delhi due to thick fog enveloping the city. This comes as cold wave conditions continue in the city, with the temperature expected to marginally drop over the next few days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a dense fog warning for the national capital for the next few days, with the visibility expected to remain low throughout the week. The weather department also predicted light rains in parts of the capital on Monday.
The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) in the NCR and adjoining areas revoked the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) under Stage III with immediate effect on Sunday, noting a consistent improvement in air quality, with the AQI reaching 339 in the ‘very poor’ category.
Addressing a press conference Sunday, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal took a jibe at PM Modi’s rally, saying, “People expect that a PM will give a vision for Delhi, but he just abused us.” He added, “The PM spoke for 38 minutes today. Of these, he spent around 29 minutes abusing the people of Delhi and the elected government. I felt very bad.” Kejriwal further said, “I want to remind the PM of the promises made in the 2020 ‘Sankalp Patra’. The people of rural Delhi are still waiting for them to be fulfilled. He promised before the 2020 assembly elections that Sections 81 and 33 of the Delhi Land Reforms Act would be abolished. Only the Centre can do this. The Delhi assembly passed a resolution on this not once but twice and sent it to the Centre many years ago.”
