The T20 World Cup is around the corner and Rishabh Pant is striving to be the best version of himself, and the latest proof of that is his brilliant all-round display in Delhi Capitals’ six-wicket victory over Gujarat Titans in the IPL in Ahmedabad on Wednesday. It was a great outing for DC as they bundled out GT for 89, which is also there lowest-ever total in the history of IPL. In the match, Pant had two stumpings, two catches, managed his bowlers well and stayed not out, as DC completed a chase of 90 in 8.5 overs in an away game.
Asked about his work behind the stumps and with the bat, Pant said, “The only thought process before coming to the field is that I wanted to come in a better way.
“Only thought when I was doing my rehab. Each and every match I am loving the process and being on the ground.” The DC captain has made a remarkable comeback to competitive cricket after suffering a horrific car accident in December 2022.
Opting to field first, the Capitals rolled over Gujarat Titans for 89 in 17.3 overs, the bowlers finally having a say after being blasted all over the park in the last few matches of the lucrative league.
Mukesh Kumar was the most successful bowler for DC with figures of 3/14, while there were two wickets apiece for Ishant Sharma (2/8) and Tristan Stubbs (2/11).
