Jadeja was unable to carry on from his knock and debutant Dhruv Jurel managed to put in a decent contribution just about missing out on his first half-century. Ravi Ashwin also supported him in the innings with 37 runs as India finished their first innings with 445 on the board.

England has come out firing with Ben Duckett leading with the bat. The left-hander went on to bring up his century putting the touring side in front. Crawley remained quiet for most of the innings but as he got going, he was dismissed by Ashwin who finally reached the 500-wicket milestone, putting his name up among the great bowlers in cricket history.

Ollie Pope took the game on and kept attacking the Indian bowlers, stitching up a partnership of 93 runs. But Siraj managed to pick up his first wicket in the series to give India a vital breakthrough as they will be remembering how dangerous Ollie Pope can get if he is allowed to bat for long periods.
