Nitish Kumar’s remarks ‘unimaginable, vulgar’: PM Modi questions INDIA bloc’s silence

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday lashed out at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for his controversial remarks on the role of women’s education in population control and questioned the silence of the Opposition on the matter.

Addressing a rally in Madhya Pradesh’s Guna, PM Modi said such statements made against women amounted to insulting the country.

“A big leader of the INDI alliance, ‘Ghamandiya Gathbandhan’ used indecent language for women inside (Bihar) assembly yesterday. They are not ashamed. No leader of the INDI alliance said a single word against it. People who think like this about women, can they do anything good for you?” PM Modi said.

“Those who have this evil attitude towards our mothers and sisters are insulting our country. How low will you stoop,” he added.

A controversy erupted on Tuesday when Nitish Kumar spoke, almost in graphic detail, about the role of women’s education in population control, triggering an uproar from the BJP MLAs in the Bihar
