With the proceedings in both Houses of Parliament continuing to remain disrupted due to a standoff between the Narendra Modi government and the Opposition since the start of the Monsoon Session on July 20, the government reached out to the Opposition Wednesday in an attempt to break the deadlock.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju met Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi to seek cooperation for Parliament’s smooth proceedings during the remaining period of the Monsoon Session that is scheduled to end on August 13.
