Delhi CM sanctions Rs 264 crore for revamping 75 CM SHRI Schools

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said on Thursday that the government has approved a Rs 264 crore proposal to revamp 75 CM SHRI Schools and equip them with modern infrastructure, enhanced safety, and improved facilities. As part of this initiative, 75 CM SHRI Schools will undergo comprehensive repairs, upgradation and the development of new facilities, she said. A proposal worth over Rs 264 crore was approved at the recent Expenditure Finance Committee (EFC) meeting chaired by the Chief Minister. She said the government’s objective is not merely to repair school buildings, but to create a learning environment where students have access to safe, clean, modern and inspiring campuses. The meeting was attended by PWD Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh, Education Minister Ashish Sood and senior officials.

Chief Minister Gupta said that under the project, school entrance gates will be redesigned, upgraded and beautified in a modern style. They will display the new CM SHRI logo alongside the school’s name. The project will also address seepage and dampness in school buildings through waterproofing, carry out interior and exterior painting, repair plaster, construct or repair boundary walls and fencing, upgrade toilets and drinking water facilities, improve sewerage and drainage systems, develop sports facilities wherever required, repair rainwater harvesting systems, renovate multipurpose halls, and undertake other repair works as needed, she said.
