The Bharatiya Janata Party officially named Nitin Nabin as its new national president on Tuesday, marking a clear generational shift in the saffron party’s top leadership.

At 45, Nabin became the youngest leader to take charge of the largest national
political party in the country. Nabin was sworn at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi and in the presence of party bigwhigs such as PM Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Union
Ministers JP Nadda, Nitin Gadkari, and Piyush Goyal.

During the event, the prime minister felicitated Nabin to mark his elevated status within the party. You (Nitin Nabin) have taken on the responsibility as the 12th National President
of such a great party. Many congratulations and best wishes to you,” said outgoing president Nadda.
