Delhi govt. approves 4-km flyover on SSN Marg to ease Chhatarpur traffic

The Delhi government has approved the construction of a 4-km-long signal-free flyover on SSN Marg to improve connectivity between South Delhi and Gurugram.

Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh announced the decision on Tuesday, saying the project will help remove a major traffic bottleneck at the Anuvrat Marg intersection, The Indian Express reported.

“The stretch is one of South Delhi’s busiest urban corridors and is currently constrained by a signalised bottleneck at Anuvrat Marg. Due to this, vehicles get stuck at the red light, leading to heavy traffic jams,” the minister said.

He added that encroachments and heavy traffic from nearby farmhouses in the Chattarpur area make the situation worse, especially during the wedding season. “The traffic jams become a nightmare during the wedding season,” Singh said.
