Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday (April 22, 2026) held bilateral talks with his German counterpart Boris Pistorius in Berlin, aimed at strengthening the strategic defence partnership between India and Germany.
According to the Ministry of Defence, the two leaders discussed a wide range of security and defence issues, with a strong emphasis on co-development and co-production of defence equipment, particularly in niche and emerging technologies. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing military-to-military cooperation as a cornerstone of the bilateral strategic partnership.
During the meeting, the Defence Industrial Cooperation Roadmap and Implementing Arrangement for Cooperation in UN Peacekeeping Training were signed and exchanged, marking a significant step forward in defence collaboration.
Describing his visit as a reflection of deep friendship, synergy and trust, Mr. Singh noted that defence ties between the two countries have gained considerable momentum in recent years, especially following Mr. Pistorius assuming office.
