Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri visited Doha on April 9–10 and held discussions with Qatar’s Minister of State for Energy Affairs and President and CEO of QatarEnergy, Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi. The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in the energy sector.

During the meeting, Puri conveyed greetings and a message of solidarity from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, as well as to Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.

He recalled two telephone conversations between Prime Minister Modi and the Amir of Qatar in March 2026 following the outbreak of conflict in the region. During the calls, both leaders had emphasised the need to restore peace and stability through dialogue and diplomacy. The Prime Minister had also expressed gratitude to the Qatari leadership for the support and care extended to the Indian community in the country.
