UN Security Council To Vote On Strait Of Hormuz Resolution

The Israeli military on Tuesday ‌(April 7, 2026) told people in Iran not to ⁠use trains throughout the country till 21:00 Iran time, saying their presence near railway lines endangers their lives. The warning came after Israeli air defences were activated in response to missiles fired by Iran, following the launch of a new “wave” of air strikes.

The UN Security Council is set to vote on Tuesday (April 7, 2026) for a resolution addressing Iran’s threats to the Strait of Hormuz, diplomatic sources told AFP. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s “positive and productive” efforts to ⁠stop the ‌war ⁠are approaching a “critical, sensitive” stage, ‌Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan Reza ‌Amiri Moghadam said ⁠in a ‌post on on ‌Tuesday (April 7, 2026).

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said on Monday (April 6, 2026) that the strait has undergone “irreversible strategic changes” and will never return to its previous status. The IRGC statement came hours after U.S. President Donald Trump put out an expletive-ridden post on social media asking Iran to open the Strait. 

Iran on Monday (April 6, 2026) rejected the latest ceasefire proposal and instead said it wants a permanent end to the war, even as Mr. Trump’s Tuesday 8 p.m. ultimatum approaches.
