After the modest response to Sikandar, Salman Khan is all set to take a new turn in his career with a gritty, patriotic action film rooted in military war drama. The actor has now finalised the female lead for the project, which is said to be inspired by the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese forces.
As per a report, Chitrangda Singh has been signed as the female lead opposite Salman Khan. This will be the first time the two actors appear together on screen. Chitrangda, who first earned praise for her role in Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, later moved into commercial films like Desi Boyz and featured in popular dance numbers such as Aao Raja from Gabbar Is Back.
The film, which is yet to be titled, is reportedly inspired by the Galwan episode detailed in the book, India’s Most Fearless 3 by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh. Salman Khan is expected to play the role of Colonel B. Santosh Babu, the commanding officer of the 16 Bihar Regiment who led the Indian soldiers during the Galwan clash.
This film marks a major milestone in Salman Khan’s career, as it will be his first time playing a real-life figure in a full-fledged role. Although he has worn the uniform in films like Heroes and Jai Ho, those were brief portrayals. Helmed by Shootout At Lokhandwala director, Apoorva Lakhia, the film aims to deliver a powerful mix of intense action and emotional storytelling based on true events.
