Delhi Police Commissiner Sanjay Arora of Friday declared Delhi as No Flying Zone as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to take oath for the third term after his win in recent Lok Sabha elections.
The ban has been imposed on any kind of drone, paragliding, parajumping, and any type of remote operated equipment in Delhi. However, New Delhi is already declared a No Flying Zone. The restrctions have been imposed for two days on June 9 and 10.
“It has been reported that certain criminal, anti-social elements or terrorists inimical to India may pose a threat to the safety of the general public, dignitaries and vital installations,” Arora said in the order.
He further said, “In exercise of the power conferred upon me by section 144 of the CrPC prohibiting flying of sub-conventional aerial platforms like para gliders, para-motors, hang gliders, UAVs, UASs, microlight aircraft, remotely piloted aircraft, hot air balloons, small size powered aircraft, quadcopters or even by para jumping from aircraft etc over Delhi during the swearing-in ceremony and doing shall be punishable u/s 188 of the Indian Penal Code.”
Earlier today, PM Modi met President Droupadi Murmu and claimed of having sufficient seats to form the government. Subsequenlty, the President has invited him to form the government. PM has said that he conveyed the date of June 9 for swearing-in to the President. The PM staked claim after being chosen as the leader of the NDA by consensus during a meeting of all MPs and senior leaders of the constituent parties.
