Welcoming Delhi’s Tis Hazari Court’s decision to reject the bail application of Bibhav Kumar in
the Swati Maliwal assault case, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva alleged that Bibhav
Kumar acted on Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s instructions.
Sachdeva said, “So far, from the police inquiry, it is clear Bibhav Kumar had no personal reason to beat and assault Swati Maliwal, hence he acted on CM Arvind Kejriwal’s instructions.
President further said, “Both Arvind Kejriwal and his family were present in the house
when Bibhav Kumar assaulted Swati Maliwal but they did not react. It is clear that he pressurized Maliwal to resign from her Rajya Sabha seat.”
“There may be two reasons behind this assault- either Bibhav on instructions of Kejriwal wanted Maliwal to resign or he wanted Swati to stay away from CM House on the instructions of Kejriwal’s family. The police investigation will soon expose the truth,” Sachdeva said.
