WPL 2024 Final: Perry, bowlers take Bangalore to title

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) were crowned the champions of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 as they beat  the Delhi Capitals (DC) by eight wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on March 17, 2023. Ellyse Perry (35*), Smriti Mandhana (31) and Sophie Devine (32) did well with the bat to chase down 114 to get over the line. This is the first trophy for RCB in both the IPL and WPL combined. 

Earlier, Capitals were bowled out for 113 in only 18.3 overs. Sophie Molineux turned the game around after the Capitals were 64/0 at the end of the first six overs. She got three wickets in the eighth over. From there on, there was no comeback for the Capitals as they were mauled by the spin trio of Molineux (3/20), Shreyanka Patil (4/12) and Asha Sobhana (2/14). Shafali top-scored for the Capitals with 44.

DC skipper Meg Lanning won the toss and decided to bat first. Disha Kasat was replaced by S Meghana in the RCB playing 11 while the Capitals remained unchanged from their last game.
