A major security breach has been reported inside the new Parliament building as two people jumped into the Lok Sabha chamber.

Two people were detained after a major security breach was reported inside the new Parliament building as unknown people jumped down from the visitor’s gallery and opened gas cannisters in the Lok Sabha chamber on the anniversary of the 2001 Parliament terrorist attack. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said the accused were nabbed and the materials with them had also been seized. He said, “A thorough investigation of the incident that took place during zero hour, is being done. Essential instructions have also been given to Delhi Police. In the primary investigation, it has been found that it was just a smoke and there is no need to worry about the smoke…”

Delhi Police sources told ANI, “Incident is being verified. Initial questioning related to security breach and who gave access. Finding out if any connection with those who jumped inside. Multi-agency questioning also likely.”

The anti-terror unit special cell of the Delhi Police has arrived inside Parliament to question the people who caused the security breach at the Lok Sabha.

Talking on the breach, Congress MP Karti Chidambaram said, “Suddenly two young men around 20 years old jumped into the House from the visitor’s gallery and had canisters in their hand. These canisters were emitting yellow smoke. One of them was attempting to run towards the Speaker’s chair. They were shouting some slogans. The smoke could have been poisonous. This is a serious breach of security especially on 13th December, the day when Parliament was attacked in 2001…”I don’t know, unknown people jumped from the gallery.
