Haryana Clashes: Section 144 Imposed in Gurugram,

Violent clashes erupted in Haryana’s Nuh after a mob tried to stop a
religious procession carried out by Vishwa Hindu Parishad, resulting in the death of
two home guards and several cops who were left injured. Soon, the violence spread
in adjoining Gurugram as a mob set ablaze four vehicles and a shop as police tried
to restore normalcy in the region. According to police, the clashes began when the
Brij Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra was stopped by a group of young men near Khedla
Mod in Nuh, and stones were pelted at the procession

Two home guards have lost their lives, and over ten police officers sustained
injuries in the incident.

Mobile internet services were temporarily suspended in Nuh district after clashes
erupted between two groups.

Violence has spread to Gurgaon, Faridabad, and Palwal districts

Section 144 imposed in Gurugram, Faridabad and Rewari districts.

Educational institutions will remain closed in Gurugram district on August 1.

“Today’s incident is unfortunate, I appeal to the people of the state to maintain
peace. Strict action to be taken against the perpetrators,” tweets Haryana CM ML
Khattar on Nuh clashes.
In the wake of the clashes, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and other
leaders cutting across party lines have appealed to people to maintain peace and
harmony in the state.
Khattar said the citizens should cooperate in the interest of the state by following the
principle of “Haryana Ek Haryanvi Ek”, asserting that all issues can be resolved
through dialogue
