Holding Shah politically responsible for the deaths during the agitation, Wangchuk said accountability had to be fixed. “Today, from Ladakh, I say – Amit Shah should resign. He has to take responsibility for what happened in Ladakh,” he said, while alleging that security personnel used automatic weapons, including AK-47s, against local youth, who were later branded as “anti-national”.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday felicitated Anganwadi workers and helpers under the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, recognising their contribution to child care, maternal health and delivery of government welfare services at the grassroots.

The felicitation was organised as part of the ninth National Nutrition Month being observed by the Delhi government. Anganwadi and Palna workers associated with around 10,870 centres across the city will be recognised through appreciation programmes to be organised in every Assembly constituency.

Addressing the gathering, Gupta said Anganwadi workers have been serving children, pregnant women and families for years without seeking publicity or recognition.

“The concerns of Anganwadi sisters who have been serving society for years without seeking the limelight are now the responsibility of their Chief Minister sister,” she said, assuring them that the government would work towards improving their working conditions.

The Chief Minister said Anganwadi workers perform a wide range of responsibilities, including caring for children, reaching out to pregnant women, conducting surveys, assisting in vaccination drives, preparing data and ensuring that government services reach families in need.
