India, Seychelles Sign Strategic MoU’ s During PM Modi’s Key Visit 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday highlighted the key outcomes of his State Visit to Seychelles, announcing a series of agreements and development initiatives aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two nations. 

The Prime Minister, who visited Seychelles at the invitation of President Dr Patrick Herminie, attended the country’s 50th Independence Day celebrations as the Guest of Honour.

India also announced a package of development assistance for Seychelles, including a Fast Patrol Vessel, 10 utility vehicles, five Laser Radial class boats, six ambulances, 500 metric tonnes of rice, and 8,500 metric tonnes of cement.

Several new initiatives were also launched during the visit, including a commemorative logo marking 50 years of diplomatic relations, the virtual ground-breaking of a Professional and Technical Education Centre, the completion of the refit of the Seychelles Coast Guard vessel PS Zoroaster, and the modernisation of a Dornier aircraft with a glass cockpit.
