Iran opened their politically charged World Cup campaign with a 2-2 draw against New Zealand on Monday night, coming from behind twice. Mohammad Mohebi scored the equaliser in the 64th minute to secure a point. In the second half, Elijah Just netted his second goal of the match to give New Zealand a 2-1 lead. However, Mohebi responded with a fine header to make it 2-2. Earlier, Just had put New Zealand ahead in the seventh minute, before Iran bounced back in the 31st minute through a goal from Ramin Rezaeian
