Trump says Israel, Iran seeking ceasefire after urging to ‘stop shooting’

S President Donald Trump said on Monday that Iran and Israel were seeking an “immediate CEASEFIRE,” after the two countries attacked each other for the first time since a truce came into effect two months ago.

“Both sides, Israel and Iran, are looking to do an immediate CEASEFIRE!” Trump said on Truth Social.

Shortly after, Iran announced the end of its military operations against Israel, the unified command of armed forces said, but warned of harsher attacks if Israel continues strikes on Lebanon.

Final negotiations on ‘Peace’ are proceeding, subject to ignorance or stupidity getting in its way,” Trump had added.

A few minutes earlier, US President Donald Trump demanded that Israel and Iran “immediately stop ‘shooting'”, following a flurry of attacks that drove oil prices up around 4 per cent and threatened to wreck US-led efforts to broker a deal to end the war.
