Key Accused In TCS ‘Conversion’ Case, Arrested In Maharashtra

Nida Khan, key accused in the Nashik TCS ‘conversion’ case, was arrested in Maharashtra on Thursday. 

Khan, accused of forcible religious conversion at the Nashik unit of the IT giant Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), had been on the run after multiple cases linked to the probe were registered.

According to police, Khan had been staying for the past four days at a flat in Kaiser Colony in Naregaon area of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar along with her parents, brother and aunt.

Police said the flat had been kept under surveillance for the last two days before the operation was carried out.

The arrest was made jointly by the Nashik SIT, the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Police Commissionerate and the Crime Branch.

In an official statement, the SIT said, “Accused Nida Khan, wanted in Devlali Camp Police Station Crime Register No. 156/26, has been taken into custody from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. As per Section 43(5) of the BNSS, she is being produced before the Judicial Magistrate First Class in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar for transit remand proceedings.”

Following her detention, Khan was produced before a Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) at the judge’s residence, where police secured transit remand.
