Delhi Brigadier assault case: Both accused released on bail, told to join investigation

Two men arrested in connection with the assault of a Brigadier and his son in Delhi’s Vasant Enclave were released on bail late Tuesday. The accused have been asked to join the investigation and appear whenever required, Hindustan Times reported.

According to police, both men, identified as Satender Siwach, 49, and Sanjay Sharma, 56, are residents of Mehram Nagar near IGI Airport. Siwach is a director of an aviation company, while Sharma runs a local dhaba. They were arrested earlier in the day and later granted bail as the charges against them are bailable, as per the report.

The assault incident took place on Saturday night when Brigadier Parminder Singh Arora allegedly objected to the accused drinking alcohol inside a car parked outside his house. The Brigadier said he noticed the men sitting inside a luxury car around 10 pm and asked them to stop. When they refused to listen, he called the police, HT reported.

However, the situation escalated after a police team reached the spot. While a police officer was speaking to the men inside the car, a group of seven to eight individuals allegedly arrived and attacked the Brigadier and his 23-year-old son.
