Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has addressed concerns regarding the functioning of the ‘Pink Card’ scheme for women, calling rumours about its failure “completely false.” She reassured women in the capital that the card is working properly and continues to provide free travel on buses without any issues.
In a message directed to women in Delhi, the Chief Minister said that misinformation is being spread about the Pink Card not working during bus transfers.
She clarified that the card functions smoothly even when passengers change buses within minutes. Whether the gap is 5, 10, or 20 minutes, the system allows seamless travel without any extra charges.
The Pink Card is part of Delhi’s initiative to provide free bus travel to women. Passengers can tap the card while boarding a bus, and the journey is digitally recorded.
If a commuter switches buses, the same card can be used again without paying any fare. The system ensures that every trip is tracked properly.
