Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday held a telephonic conversation with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, during which the two leaders exchanged Eid greetings and discussed the evolving situation in West Asia.
During the conversation, Prime Minister Modi conveyed advance Eid wishes to the UAE President and reaffirmed India’s strong condemnation of recent attacks on the UAE that have led to loss of innocent lives and damage to civilian infrastructure.
The two leaders also underscored the importance of ensuring safe and free navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, a key global energy corridor, amid rising regional tensions.
Prime Minister Modi emphasised that India and the UAE would continue to work closely for the early restoration of peace, security and stability in the region.
In a post on social media platform X, the Prime Minister said he had a productive discussion with the UAE President on the current developments in West Asia and reiterated India’s firm stance against attacks targeting civilians.
