Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday laid the foundation stone for 49 development projects worth approximately Rs 264 crore in the Mundka Assembly constituency, stating that the works would significantly improve road connectivity, water supply and sewerage infrastructure in the area.
Addressing residents and local representatives, the Chief Minister said upon completion, the projects would ease traffic movement, provide access to clean drinking water, strengthen the sewerage system and enhance education and healthcare facilities. She described the initiatives as a major step towards bringing urban-standard amenities to rural Delhi.
Gupta said over the past year, development works worth nearly Rs 1,600 crore had been initiated across rural parts of the Capital. A dedicated allocation of Rs 1,000 crore had been made for village development to ensure planned and accelerated progress.
Highlighting the government’s focus on “Antyodaya”, she said extensive work had been undertaken in rural Delhi in sectors such as roads, drinking water, sewerage, education and healthcare. Special emphasis was being laid on road construction in villages, development of major drains, border area infrastructure and establishment of new schools, hospitals and dispensaries.
