Annouced Googles Fullstack Al Hub In Vizag

Speaking at the AI India Summit, Google CEO Sundar Pichai said it was “wonderful to be back in India,” adding that every visit leaves him struck by the country’s rapid pace of change. “Every time I visit India, I am struck by the pace of change, and today is no different,” he said, highlighting the scale of technological and infrastructure transformation underway across the country.

Recalling his student days travelling to IIT Kharagpur through Visakhapatnam — once a modest coastal city — Pichai noted that it is now emerging as a global AI hub. He said Google is establishing a full-stack AI hub there as part of a $15 billion investment, which will include large-scale compute infrastructure and a subsea cable gateway. The initiative is expected to create jobs and expand AI capabilities in India, underscoring how far the country has progressed in technology and digital infrastructure.

Addressing the India AI Impact Summit on Thursday, “We cannot allow the digital divide to become an AI divide. That means investing in compute infrastructure and connectivity… We’re also building a vast network of subsea fibre optic cables, including four new systems between the US and India as part of our America-India Connect initiative announced yesterday. Responsibility also means navigating profound economic shifts.
