In a move that could redefine public education in the Capital, Delhi on Tuesday launched the country’s first AI-driven comprehensive school education model, positioning government schools as gateways to global opportunities. The initiative began with the inauguration of the CM Shri School at Sarojini Nagar by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, alongside the laying of foundation stones for 75 CM Shri School projects across the city.Designed in line with the National Education Policy, the CM Shri Schools are being developed as “Centres of Excellence”, combining artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure and skill-based learning within the government school system. The model seeks to begin structured preparation for competitive entrance examinations such as engineering, medical, law and defence services directly from school, reducing dependence on private coaching.
Addressing the gathering, Dharmendra Pradhan said, “Through CM Shri Schools, students will receive modern, technology enabled education comparable to private institutions.” He described the rollout of 75 schools as a major step towards equitable education, particularly for students from economically weaker and middle income families.
