Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi at Raj Ghat on his death anniversary, recalling the relevance of his ideals of truth, non-violence and service in contemporary times.
The Chief Minister bowed at the memorial and later shared a message on social media, saying Mahatma Gandhi had turned truth, non-violence and service into a way of life rather than abstract ideals. She said his philosophy continues to guide the process of nation-building and inspires a sense of duty, discipline and dedication among citizens.
Gupta also urged people to work towards a developed India by imbibing Gandhi’s ideals of cleanliness, swadeshi and social harmony.
