A review meeting to address the rising air pollution levels in Delhi was concluded on Monday at the Delhi Secretariat. The meeting was chaired by the Delhi Chief Minister and attended by officials from various departments, including the Public Works Department (PWD), Transport, Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC), Environment, and others.
After the meeting, Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said the Chief Minister sought responses from multiple departments, including the Public Works Department, Transport Department, DPCC, and the Environment Department, to discuss various aspects of pollution in the national capital.
Sirsa confirmed that a follow-up meeting has been scheduled for Thursday to continue the discussions and ensure that the necessary steps are taken.
Delhi’s pollution has worsened sharply in recent years, with rising smog and deteriorating air quality posing serious health risks to millions, making sustained government action crucial to improving the city’s environment.
