Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, NCP-SP’s Supriya Sule and other leaders sat together at a tea party hosted by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla in his chamber after the Winter Session of Parliament was adjourned sine die on Friday. The leaders thanked Birla for the conduct of the session.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Ministers K Ram Mohan Naidu, Rajiv Ranjan Singh ‘Lalan’, Chirag Paswan, and Pralhad Joshi also joined the Speaker over tea.
Unlike previous sessions, this time, the Opposition MPs also joined the tea party hosted by Lok Sabha Speaker to ease of the tension that usually build between the members of the ruling party and Opposition when the House is in function.
Congress was represented by Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in the absence of Leader of Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi.
As the MPs were sitting together and having lighter chats, in one anecdote, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra who was seen sitting next to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, facing PM Modi and Om Birla, shared that she consumes a herb from her constituency Wayanad in Kerala to prevent herself from allergies.
Listening to this, PM Modi and Rajnath Singh both responded with a smile to Wayanad MP’s remark.
