3rd T20I: IND defeat SA by 7 wickets, take 2-1 lead

India defeated South Africa by seven wickets in the third T20I of the ongoing five-match series, in Dharamshala on Sunday. The win saw India take a 2-1 lead. Chasing 118 runs, India cruised to 120/3 in 15.5 overs as Shivam Dube hit the match-winning boundary.

Abhishek Sharma gave India a strong start in the run-chase, smacking 35 off 18 balls, also hitting three fours and three sixes. Meanwhile, Shubman Gill registered 28 off 28 balls. Tilak Varma (25*) and Dube (10*) remained unbeaten for India. In the first innings, it was a total collapse as India bowled out South Africa for 117 in 20 overs, with Kuldeep Yadav getting the final two wickets in the last.

The spinner removed Anrich Nortje (12) and then Baartman (1) in the final ball. Donovan Ferreira was trying to stage a comeback for South Africa, but Varun Chakaravarthy removed him for 20 off 15 balls. Meanwhile, Varun also removed Marco Jansen.

Shivam Dube began his spell in the 11th over, removing Corbin Bosch (4) in the first delivery. Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya removed Tristan Stubbs (9) for his 100th T20I wicket. Harshit Rana got the big fish for India, removing Quinton de Kock (1) early and Arshdeep Singh got Reeza Hendricks for a three-ball duck in the first over. The match began with India captain Suryakumar Yadav winning the toss and opting to bowl.
