Explosions Rock Iran’s Fordow Nuclear Site Amid Israeli Strikes, Trigger Earthquake

As fighting continued between Israel and Iran for the fourth consecutive night, several loud explosions were heard near the Fordow nuclear site in Iran, with noticeable ground tremors, according to reports on Monday morning.

The earthquake triggered near the nuclear facility was measured at 2.5 on the Richter scale.

According to Iran’s health ministry, Israeli strikes have killed 224 people since the beginning of the conflict on June 13. 3 officials of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were confirmed dead in the latest Israeli strikes.

Chief of the UN atomic agency, Rafael Grossi, said that Iran told the agency that Israel attacked the Fordow enrichment plant on Friday — the first day of the military conflict — which implies that Israel hit three core sites of Iran’s nuclear programme, The Wall Street Journal reported earlier. Israel had also hit the Natanz enrichment site in last week’s attack. Among other attacks, Israel hit the Isfahan Nuclear Facility and Uranium Conversion Center.
