Delhi-NCR Wakes up to Dusty weather

The 2025 Cannes Film Festival has officially kicked off, and while no Indian films are part of the main competition, Indian celebrities are still making their presence felt at the prestigious event. From red carpet veterans to first-timers, here’s a look at the Indian stars set to attend this year’s festival.

A Cannes mainstay for over two decades, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will once again grace the festival red carpet. As a L’Oréal Paris ambassador, Aishwarya has become synonymous with glamour at Cannes. Her extravagant gowns and iconic beauty looks are among the most anticipated elements each year, and 2025 is expected to be no different.

Alia Bhatt was slated to make her Cannes debut this year, following her stunning Met Gala appearance last year in a Sabyasachi sari. She is also the first Indian global ambassador for Gucci. However, there are unconfirmed reports suggesting that she might postpone her appearance due to escalating tensions at the India-Pakistan border. Fans are still hopeful for a surprise last-minute arrival.

Marking her long-awaited red carpet debut, Simi Garewal will walk at Cannes 2025 on May 19. She will attend the screening of the restored 1970 Satyajit Ray classic Aranyer Din Ratri (Days and Nights in the Forest), in which she starred. The film, restored in 4K, will be showcased in the Cannes Classics section.
