Hundreds of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers, civil defence volunteers, National Cadet Corps cadets and school students, among others, participated in the ‘Tiranga Shaurya Samman Yatra’ at Kartavya Path on Tuesday to laud the armed forces for carrying out Operation Sindoor.
The yatra from Kartavya Path to National War Memorial was part of the 11-day nationwide celebratory marches announced by the Centre on the success of the action taken against terror infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
The 3-km-long stretch was dotted with the Tricolour as the participants, including Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh, marched waving the flag amid chants of ‘Vande Mataram’ and ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’.
“Our brave soldiers have sent a message that India will no longer remain silent in the face of terror,” Ms. Gupta said. Echoing her sentiments, Mr. Chugh said that India has changed, and this “new India” desires peace but is ready to go to any extent for the total eradication of terrorism.
Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the way he handled the situation. “It is for the first time in world history that a leader decided to attack the airbase of a nuclear nation. The excitement is palpable as one can see thousands of flags here,” he said.
