IPL Super Sunday: SRH crush RR, CSK win el classico against MI

CSK seemed set to stroll to victory while captain Ruturaj Gaikwad was going big guns with Rachin Ravindra. However MI’s IPL debutant Vignesh Puthur threw a spanner in the works for the hosts by picking three wickets in three overs. Will Jacks contributed as well and CSK are suddenly in trouble going into the death overs. Ravindra stayed strong while wickets fell at the other end and powered CSK to a four-wicket victory. He finished unbeaten on 65 in 45 balls.

Gaikwad and Ravindra had earlier got them off to a strong start regardless as they chase a target of 156 in their season opener against arch-rivals MI at the Chepauk Sadium. Noor Ahmad picked four wickets on CSK debut as MI limped their way to 155/9 at the Chepauk Stadium. Deepak Chahar blasted 28 runs in 15 balls to take MI over the 150-run mark.

As if the Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma onslaught wasn’t enough, SRH has unleashed Ishan Kishan and he’s wasted no time making himself at home. Kishan smashes his maiden IPL hundred, a blistering 106 off just 47 balls*, at a scorching strike rate of 225.53. Six sixes later, it’s clear — he’s already mastered the SRH playbook of relentless hitting.
