S Jaishankar’s Convoy In London, Protest By Pro Khalistan

A Khalistani protestor blocked Foreign Minister S Jaishankar’s convoy and ripped apart India’s flag during the latter’s London visit. The protest took place outside a venue where Jaishankar was participating in a discussion organised by Chatham House.

The protester was swiftly removed by security personnel stationed at the venue. A video circulating online captures the man running toward Jaishankar’s vehicle and ripping the Indian flag while London police officers are seen nearby. The protesters could also be heard chanting pro-Khalistan slogans.

The incident occurred during Jaishankar’s official visit to the UK from March 4-9, where he is set to engage with British Foreign Secretary David Lammy and other key officials. The primary objective of his visit is to enhance the India-UK comprehensive strategic partnership, focusing on areas such as trade, health, education, people-to-people connections, and defence cooperation.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar spoke on Wednesday about Kashmir and the steps taken by the Indian government, such as removing Article 370, restoring growth and economic activity and holding elections which saw high turnout. He also spoke about the views of BRICS member countries regarding the use of the dollar in the international economy.
