DMRC To Add 44 New Metro Stations for Delhi Commuters by 2026

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is expected to add planning to add at least 44 new metro stations by the financial year 2026-27. The addition of stations will be a part of the much-anticipated Delhi Metro Phase-4 corridor, which has a route length of more than 395 km (including the Noida Metro Aqua Line and Rapid Metro Gurugram), The DMRC, which is the longest Metro network in India, have 289 stations across 12 corridors as of now.

Currently, the DMRC is operating metro services only between Janakpuri West and Krishna Park Extension on the Phase 4 corridor. The stretch is 2.3-km-long, which is a part of the Delhi Metro’s Magenta Line Extension. The same was inaugurated on January 5, 2025. A total of 44 stations will be added soon, reported ET Now.

There are three priority corridors for the DMRC. Now that, the Janakpuri West to Krishna Park (Magenta Line) is opened, DMRC is working on the rest of the portion — Krishna Park Extension to Ramakrishna Ashram Marg. With that, there are Majlis Park – Maujpur section and Aerocity – Tughlakabad (Golden Line).
