Nitin Gadkari In Goa Remove encroachments or I’ll arrange bulldozers

Flagging certain “discrepancies” in road projects, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari Tuesday called for a “thorough inspection”, questioning whether certain encroachments had led to a reduction of the width of roads.

Addressing a gathering in South Goa after laying the foundation stone for six national highway projects, Gadkari asked Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Chief Secretary Dr V Candavelou to look into the issue and ensure that work is done as per the records.

Gadkari stressed the need to identify black spots to reduce accidents in Goa, and strive to make efforts to make the coastal state “pollution-free and accident-free”. The Minister urged the state government to initiate work on the revolving restaurant atop the Zuari bridge tower, stating that the project will generate job opportunities for the youth.
