The Aashiqui franchise is loved for its take on fresh love stories and blockbuster albums. When filmmaker Anurag Basu announced the third instalment of the franchise, starring Kartik Aaryan and Triptii Dimri in it, fans got excited to see how the classic would turn out. But as per latest reports, Triptii is no longer a part of the movie. 

Earlier, there were reports that Triptii exited the film. But according to a recent report by Zoom and reported by Times Now, the actress was dropped from the project as the makers felt she was not a good fit for the role. 

“The fundamental requirement to be the heroine of Aashiqui 3 is innocence reflecting through, and as observed by the team behind the film, Triptii Dimri with her recent films has become too exposed to be cast in this romantic film which demands purity in demeanour from the female lead. Aashiqui is a legendary, soulful love story and the makers do not see Tripti fitting the parameters,” a source close to the development stated to the publication. 

The source added, “After Animal, there has been no buzz around her. More so, her solo standing at the box office hasn’t proven profitable with her recent films.”

Triptii’s earlier films like Laila Majnu, Bulbbul and Qala established her as a skilled actor. But it was 2023’s Animal which truly catapulted her into success. Animal’s massive box-office success also added to Triptii’s star power.
