Winter Session Of Parliamrnt Begins, Today Waqf Bill In Facts

The Winter Session of parliament has begun. Three key bills are scheduled in this session. Coming on the heels of the NDA’s massive victory in Haryana and Maharashtra, the session is likely to see the government on a strong wicket.

Addressing the media before the House met, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched an all-out attack on Congress, saying those who were “repeatedly rejected by people disrespect Parliament and democracy”.

The Prime Minister said he was “hoping for healthy discussions”. “Some people who have been rejected by the people are constantly trying to control the Parliament through hooliganism by a handful of people,” he said.

However, both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned shortly after they met amid sloganeering from the Opposition benches.

Earlier, the floor leaders of the INDIA bloc held a meeting in Parliament House to decide the Opposition strategy. “We have asked to raise the Manipur issue… Rapes, murders are happening and there is no law and order in Manipur…There is unemployment in the country. I am also worried that the pollution situation in the northern India is becoming more and more serious,” said Congress’s Pramod Tiwari.
