As soon as the results were officially declared, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated American President Donald Trump on his election on Wednesday afternoon. “Heartiest congratulations my friend @realDonaldTrump on your historic election victory,” he said to Trump on becoming the 47th President of the United States.

“As you build on the successes of your previous term, I look forward to renewing our collaboration to further strengthen the India-US Comprehensive Global and Strategic Partnership,” Modi said in a post on X.

In the wake of raging conflicts in Ukraine and West Asia, the Prime Minister also added that the two leaders would work together for peace and stability.
