560 kg cocaine worth ₹2,000 crore seized as Delhi Police bust drug syndicate

Delhi Police on Wednesday busted an international drug syndicate and seized 560 kg of cocaine.

The cocaine is worth more than ₹2,000 crore and said to be the biggest drug bust ever seen in the city.

Based on a tip-off, police arrested four people along with the consignment from South Delhi’s Mehrauli.

Pramod Singh Kushwaha, Additional CP of Delhi police’s Special Cell said that the accused has been identified as Tushar Goyal, a resident of Vasant Vihar in Delhi. “He has two associates – Himanshu and Aurangzeb. Bharat Jain, a receiver from Kurla West has also been caught,” said Kushwaha.

Kushwaha added that around 15 kgs of cocaine was recovered from personal possession of Tushar Goyal, Himanshu and Aurangzeb.

“They were caught when they were coming out of the godown in Mahipalpur Extension to give the supply to the receiver. Remaining marijuana and cocaine were found in the godown. The forward and backward linkages point to a Middle Eastern country. This is the biggest cocaine haul in recent times,” reported ANI quoting Kushwaha.
